2014 Coach Development Clinics

The Sail Canada Coach Development Program is one of the most highly regarded instructor training programs in the world. Certified coaches are in high demand across Canada and around the world. The New Brunswick Sailing Association offers coach development clinics for sailors interested in becoming sail Canada Learn-to-Sail coaches. The New Brunswick Sailing Association hosts an annual Coach Development Clinic.

2014 Clinics

NBSA is organizing two Training Clinics in 2014:

1. Fundamentals Course: May 3rd & 4th at the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht club in Saint John

2. CanSail Level 1-2-3-4-5-6 Instructor Clinic on May 16, 17, 18, 19th at Shediac Bay Yacht Club

See the Clinic description here. Access the Registration Form for the clinics here.

New Brunswick future coaches, and current coaches obtaining additional levels, must follow the coaching pathway shown below. More information on the new LTS coaching levels can be found on the Sail Canada site. Existing coaches can still teach the Learn-to-Sail programs that their levels allow until there certification expires (Typically 4 years from when they were certified). Coaching Clinics are comprised of 3 components of which must be completed in order.
1. CANSailSailing Fundamental Course (Theory in the Classroom)
2. CANSail Coaching Technical Course (On-Water Coaching)
3. In-field Evaluation (Real Setting Evaluation of Coaching Skills)
