ARK Regatta Report

July 12, 2009: The New Brunswick Sailing Team attended this year’s edition of the ARK regatta on July 11+12th. Bedford Basin Yacht Club once again was the host of this event for the 38th consecutive year. Catherine Richards, and Thomas Nicholson finished second and third respectively in the laser radial class of 20 – 30 boats. New Brunswick’s two 29er’s crewed by Meredith Evans, and Erin Moir in the women’s boat and Alex Black and Kelvin Gilliland in the men’s boat finished mid-fleet of 10 boats. The first day of the event consisted of sunny skies, and patchy winds in the 10 knot range. The final day of the event saw some rain to start out the day, with winds in the 15 knot range. New Brunswick was also represented by some sailors from the Shediac Area.
